Which tour suits a bachelor party?
The choice of tour depends on what kind of crew you are. Our two recommendations:
Strubklamm – if you want action
The Strubklamm is the bachelor-party classic. Several jumps, water slides, abseiling spots – roughly 3–4 hours of action in one of Salzburg's most beautiful gorges. Minimum age 16, good swimming ability and average fitness. Perfect for sporty groups chasing adrenaline.
Almbachklamm – if the crew is mixed
If not everyone in your group is in top athletic shape, or some people have a fear of heights, the Almbachklamm is the better choice. Approx. 2 hours in the gorge, gentler jumps, from age 10 – so everyone can join in.
How big can the party group be?
We tour in small groups of a maximum of 8 people per guide. If your party crew is bigger (up to 16), we split you into 2 groups running in parallel – you meet up in the gorge and again at the end. More than 16 people doesn't work logistically in one tour; but that's almost never the case with bachelor parties.
How a canyoning party day unfolds
- 09:30 / 13:30 – meeting point: We meet at the agreed spot near the gorge. Welcome, briefing, putting on the gear (wetsuit, helmet, harness) – approx. 30 minutes
- Approach to the gorge: a short walk, 10–20 minutes
- 2–4 hours of touring: jumps, swimming sections, abseiling spots, water slides – always adapted to the group
- Descent and changing: 20–30 minutes
- Optional: photo handover: We take photos on request – you receive them digitally after the tour
Plan approx. 4–5 hours in total for the canyoning day. The rest of the day is left for a stroll through Salzburg, lunch, party games or the actual evening.
How much does a canyoning bachelor party cost?
For party groups of 6 or more, we're happy to put together a group offer. In general, a half-day tour costs between €70 and €105 per head. We won't be stingy if you're a bigger group. More on the topic in our price guide.

Frequently asked questions
Is it called Polterabend, bachelor party or stag/hen do?
Here in Salzburg and the Salzkammergut the traditional term is Polterabend or simply Poltern. Bachelor party, stag do, hen do or the German abbreviation JGA are all familiar – we understand every variant and are happy to advise. Whatever you call it: the experience is the same.
How do we plan the day if not everyone is equally fit?
Calibrate honestly: if your party crew includes 2 people with knee issues, better the Almbachklamm than the Strubklamm. We'll advise you honestly on the phone – no selling at the expense of the fun.
Can we do canyoning after a few drinks?
No, definitely not. Alcohol and gorges don't mix – that applies to every provider in Austria. Save the drinking for the evening after the tour, not before.
Can we dress up the bride- or groom-to-be?
Under the wetsuit nobody will notice anyway. Headbands or pop-up accessories over the neoprene are fine – as long as nothing interferes with the safety equipment.
Who can't take part?
People with serious cardiovascular problems, acute mobility restrictions or under the influence of drugs cannot take part for safety reasons. Pregnancy: please check with us beforehand.
How early do I need to book?
For summer weekends, 3–4 weeks' lead time is advisable. We'll of course try to accommodate later requests, but free dates become scarce.
