Canyoning means hiking, climbing, sliding, jumping and abseiling through steep stream beds and gorges – a nature-based outdoor adventure with a big thrill factor. At Badis Adventures we have been guiding people into the most beautiful canyons of Salzburg, Upper Austria, Friuli and Ticino for more than 25 years.
How Does a Canyoning Tour Work?
- Meeting point & briefing (approx. 30 min): welcome, safety instructions, putting on the equipment (wetsuit, helmet, climbing harness)
- Approach (10–20 min): a short walk to the canyon entry
- Canyon experience (2–4 h): jumps, natural water slides, abseils, swimming sections – always with a trained guide
- Exit & changing (20–30 min)
What Is Provided, What Do You Bring?
We provide: wetsuit, helmet, climbing harness, all belaying and safety gear, a state-certified canyoning guide, insurance.
You bring: swimwear, a towel, dry clothes to change into, closed water shoes (or old trainers).

Is Canyoning Safe?
Yes, with serious operators. In Austria, commercial canyoning may only be carried out by state-certified canyoning guides. All our active guides are state-certified, our gear comes from premium manufacturers (Petzl, Edelrid, Camaro), and before every tour we assess the weather and water levels.
