Beginner & top-rope course for kids and adults
This course is for children and adults who want to get into climbing. You will learn the basic climbing techniques, which knots you need to tie in correctly, and what to look out for with your equipment. Safety comes first in climbing gyms – so you will also learn the 10 climbing rules for accident-free climbing.
You don't need any prerequisites, and no equipment of your own either – we provide everything. The entry fee for the climbing gym is not included in the price.
Course venue
The course takes place at the Kletterhalle Alpenverein Ried: Messeplatz 3a, 4910 Ried im Innkreis.
Your climbing instructor
All courses are led by Fritz Badegruber, a state-certified instructor for alpine climbing and sport climbing. After the top-rope course you can move straight on to the lead climbing course – you'll find all courses in the climbing course overview.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need prior experience or my own gear?
No. There are no prerequisites, and you don't need your own equipment either – we provide everything. Only the entry fee for the climbing gym is not included in the price.
From what age can children take part?
The course is suitable for children from 8 years. Children complete 6 sessions of 1.5 hours each, adults 5 sessions.

What is the cancellation policy?
The organiser may cancel or postpone the course at any time if it cannot be run safely. If a guest cancels on the day of the course, we reserve the right to charge the full price.
