Beginner & top-rope course for children and adults
This course is for children and for adults who want to get into climbing. You’ll learn the basic climbing techniques, which knots you need to tie in properly, and what to look out for when it comes to equipment. Safety is a top priority at climbing gyms – so you’ll also learn the 10 climbing rules for accident-free climbing.
You don’t need any prior experience, nor your own equipment – we provide it. Entry to the climbing gym is not included in the price.
Course location
The course takes place at the Alpenverein Ried climbing gym: Messeplatz 3a, 4910 Ried im Innkreis.
Your climbing instructor
All courses are led by Fritz Badegruber, state-certified instructor for alpine climbing and sport climbing/recreational sport. After the top-rope course you can go straight on to the lead climbing course – you’ll find all courses in the climbing course overview.

Do I need previous experience or my own equipment?
No. You don't need any prior experience or your own equipment – we provide everything. Only entry to the climbing gym is not included in the price.
From what age can children take part?
The course is suitable for children aged 8 and over. Children complete 6 sessions of 1.5 hours each, adults 5 sessions.

What happens in the event of cancellation?
The course can be cancelled or postponed by the organiser at any time if it cannot be held safely. If the guest cancels on the day of the course, we reserve the right to charge the full price.
